The purpose of CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, primarily for persons of low and moderate income. Through these grants, San Mateo County provides funding for a wide variety of community and economic development activities directed toward neighborhood revitalization, economic development and improved community facilities and services. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for these funds through a grant process.
